Nearly seven hours after the first major quake, another major 6.0 magnitude earthquake hit 170 km ENE of Miyako, Japan, on August 20, 2016, at 15:58:04 UTC, at a depth of 10 km, reported USGS.

A major 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit the South Georgia Island Region, on August 21, 2016, at 03:45:23 UTC, at a depth of 10 km, reported USGS.
