A major 6.1 magnitude earthquake hit the New Ireland region of Papua New Guinea on December 24, 2016, at 01:32:17 UTC, at a depth of 52 km, reported Geoscience Australia (not finalized).

731 major (6.0+) to super (8.0+) earthquakes hit various places worldwide over the last 1,405 days. Among these were 85 7.0+ and 7 8.0+ magnitude quakes. Major to super magnitude earthquakes have increased to more than one every two days on average during the last 46 months. The continuously high number of major to super earthquakes during this time period is unprecedented and a fulfillment of last days Bible prophecy.
