The PTWC issued a Tsunami Information Statement on September 9, 2018, at 1940 UTC.

A 6.3 major magnitude earthquake hit Mindanao, Philippines, on September 8, 2018, at 07:16:50 UTC, at a depth of 10 km, reported Geoscience Australia (may not be finalized).
