A major 6.7 quake hit the South Sandwich Islands region on April 9, 2019, at 1754 UTC, at a depth of 58.7 km / 71 mi, reported the PTWC.
The PTWC issued a Tsunami Information Statement on April 9, 2019, at 1805 UTC.

1,096 major (6.0+) to super (8.0+) earthquakes hit various places worldwide over the last 2,224 days. Among these were 120 7.0+ and 13 8.0+ magnitude quakes. Jesus said these signs would appear before He returns,
