A major 6.5 quake hit the Western Indian-Antarctic Ridge on April 18, 2019, at 14:46:01 UTC, at a depth of 10.0 km, reported the USGS.

1,102 major (6.0+) to super (8.0+) earthquakes hit various places worldwide over the last 2,233 days. Among these were 121 7.0+ and 13 8.0+ magnitude quakes.
