Norman Greenbaum – Spirit In the Sky

שבת שלום

(Shabbat Shalom = A Peaceful Sabbath)

This song, Spirit In the Sky, became a gold record. It was released in 1969 and by 1970 it sold more than two million copies. It hit number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and it stayed in the top 100 for nearly four months.

The amazing part about this song is that Norman Greenbaum is a Jew! He is still a Jew, to my knowledge. He admitted writing the song as an “observant Jew” and he was raised Orthodox.

The Lord obviously blessed Norman, up one side and down the other, for writing this song, lifting up the name of Jesus, especially for the youth.

Norman, if you stop here perchance, I would like to invite you, or any other Orthodox Jew, to examine the greatest prophecy ever told in the Old Testament (Ketuvim) given by the Prophet Daniel. The Archangel Gabriel told Daniel when the Messiah would come, in exactly the number of years from the time of Daniel, specifically from the time Artaxerxes ordered that the Jews be able to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the Temple. Messiah, Jesus, did come at exactly the time Gabriel told Daniel He, the “Prince” (Messiah), would come. Here is a link to the breakdown of “Daniel’s 70 Weeks” prophecy and the timeline revealing that Jesus came at the appointed time: https://nowprophecyblog.wordpress.com/2018/09/08/the-greatest-prophecy-ever-given/

If Jews deny that Jesus is the Messiah, they would have to deny that the Prophet Daniel was God’s prophet! Don’t be so steeped in tradition, that you can’t think for yourselves and analyze the facts of ancient history. Below is a chart outlining the prophecy taken from the publication at the link above:

Salvation is offered to everyone who repents of sin and receives Jesus as their Lord and Savior, unless a person crosses a line with God, to the point of becoming reprobate, having no conscience (Romans 1:21-32; Hebrews 6:4-6). Now is the time of salvation for everyone; tomorrow, or even the next hour, could be too late.

Hundreds of Bible prophecies have been fulfilled and those remaining shall surely come to pass. Are you prepared to stand before God and give an account of the life you have lived on this earth (Revelation 20:12-15)? If not, salvation is only a prayer away. Please visit the How Can I Be Saved page – your eternal destiny depends on it. God bless you.

“The Spirit and the bride say, Come; and let him who hears say, Come; and let him that is athirst come, and whosoever will, let him take of the water of life freely” Revelation 22:17
