Shabbat Shalom = A Peaceful Sabbath
Are you downtrodden, brokenhearted, perhaps busted, without a dime?
Jesus said,
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are bruised” Luke 4:18
I know a woman whose husband tossed her in the street and she slept in her car for about 10 months. She prayed and the Lord moved on her heart to drive around the block where her house was located seven times, just as Joshua and the children of Israel marched around Jericho seven times, as the Lord instructed them to do on the seventh day. She obeyed the Lord and did this simple act by faith, claiming back her house and her son in the name of Jesus!
The children of Israel claimed Jericho and marched around the city one time for six days. On the seventh day, they marched around the city seven times and shouted, and the walls of Jericho came falling down and the children of Israel took the city, just as God promised (Joshua 6)!
This woman, whose husband kicked her out of her own home, after 14 years of marriage, drove around the block seven times, doing the same thing Joshua and the children of Israel did, but she claimed her son, her house and her life back in the name of Jesus!
Her husband filed for divorce and brought a girlfriend to the house. In the meantime, God directed this woman to waive spousal support after 12 months. She only asked for 12 months of spousal support and stipulated that it would end after 12 months. She threw in a waiver of any future interest in his retirement benefits, because she didn’t want to take any of his money. She only received 12 months of spousal support to give her enough time to gain full-time employment. She asked for her house and joint custody of her son. Her husband didn’t want the house; he wanted his income, so he agreed to pay her spousal support for 12 months and transfer the title of their home to her. She also gained joint custody of their son.
Her spousal support only paid the house payment, but she was able to work part-time to supplement the spousal support, until she could secure a full-time job.
This was all a gamble, as defined by most, because if this woman didn’t gain full-time employment within 12 months, enough to meet all of her expenses, she would lose her home and perhaps even lose joint custody of her son, being left with no housing. Nevertheless, she knew her God; she knew who she was, a beloved child of God, even though she was going through the trials of her life, and she had full confidence in what He would do for her.
Do you know that when you pray to the One and only God, in the name of His Son Jesus, and do everything you are supposed to do, trusting in God; He will never fail you? That’s right, He will never let you down when you pray, trust in the Lord and obey Him. It’s important not to leave out any of these three elements, and you will win! God promised, and He never breaks a promise!
Jesus said:
“Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you will receive them and ye shall have them” Mark 11:24 *We are not to pray amiss; we must pray according to God’s will and then we can receive what we ask for (James 4:3). Sometimes we have to be patient while waiting for the answer.
Within 11 months, this woman was able to return to the full-time job she had before she married, after being absent 14 years, with full benefits. She didn’t receive her first paycheck until the following month, exactly the same month her spousal support ended, friends!
GOD IS THE WAY MAKER!
Do you know Him?
If not, read the Word of God and find out what a marvelous, miracle-working God He is, and serve the Lord with all of your heart, all of your mind, all of your soul and all of your strength – and He will absolutely bless you in every way possible. You will be astonished to find out who He really is!
When God blesses you, give to others and support God’s ministry and this promise is yours:
“Give, and it shall be given to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you give, it shall be measured to you again” Luke 6:38
There are many, many promises of blessings to the people of God, if they will pray, trust Him and are obedient to Him.
Why not try the Lord and see how wonderful God is?
God said,
“And you shall seek Me and find Me when you shall search for Me with ALL YOUR HEART” Jeremiah 29:13
*The husband later took out his full retirement benefit in cash and invested all that money (a lot of money), but guess what happened shortly thereafter? The Twin Towers came down during the 9/11 terror attacks and a lot of people lost all of their investments. He was one of them; he lost everything! He lost the girlfriend. He finally married someone and they purchased a beautiful home on a hill, but they divorced and he lost that house too! The moral to the story is, don’t kick a saint of God in the street and leave her homeless, then bring another woman into the house, adding insult to injury!
Salvation is offered to everyone who repents of sin and receives Jesus as their Lord and Savior, unless a person crosses a line with God, to the point of becoming reprobate, having no conscience (Romans 1:21-32; Hebrews 6:4-6). Now is the time of salvation for everyone; tomorrow, or even the next hour, could be too late.
Hundreds of Bible prophecies have been fulfilled and those remaining shall surely come to pass. Are you prepared to stand before God and give an account of the life you have lived on this earth (Revelation 20:12-15)? If not, salvation is only a prayer away.
