SUPER TYPHOON HEADED TO JAPAN

Typhoon Lan has been rapidly intensifying and is expected to reach super typhoon status by Saturday, with at least 150 mph sustained winds and 185 mph gusts. This storm could potentially heighten to a Category 5.

According to satellite imagery, the typhoon has a huge eye of about 50 miles in diameter, and it is expected to hit Japan, near or directly over Tokyo, by Sunday, or perhaps Monday morning.

This super storm is projected to bring storm surge, destructive winds, flooding and power outages to Japan; and cause a jet stream of strong winds and cold weather into North America.

Lets pray for the residents of Japan, that they call upon the name of the Lord for salvation, if they aren’t saved already, and for protection from the storm.

Preparedness is imperative before the onset of these deadly storms; early and thorough preparations will save lives. Obviously, it is wise to err on the side of extra precautions. Evacuate early, if you can. Wouldn’t it be better to sleep in your vehicle, if necessary, in a safe location away from the epicenter of the storm, than to die at home?

“You will be visited of the Lord of hosts with thunder, earthquake, great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire” Isaiah 29:6.

“And there shall be signs in the sun, moon and in the stars and upon the earth distress of nations with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them for fear and for looking after those things which re coming upon the earth, for the powers of heaven will be shaken. And then they shall see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory; and when these things begin to come to pass, then look up and lift up your heads, for your redemption draws near” Luke 21:25-28.

MORE THAN 100,000 FLEE FLOODS IN JAPAN

More than 100,000 people have evacuated Honshu, Japan, after tropical storm Etau hit the area on Friday. Heavy floods caused rivers to overflow their banks, lifted houses from their foundations, uprooted trees and caused landslides, as helicopters rescued many people from their housetops.

Another 800,000 people were advised to evacuate their homes during this unprecedented rainfall (in the last 50 years), which has affected areas east and north of Tokyo.

A disastrous tsunami that hit Japan in 2011, causing nearly 20,000 deaths. In fact, an exceptionally high number of national disasters, such as earthquakes, tsunamis, flooding and severe weather, have occurred throughout the world over about the last five years. Five tsunamis have occurred since 2010. Jesus said concerning the last days,

“And there shall be signs in the sun and in the moon (eclipses-blood moons and solar eclipse) and in the stars (asteroid hits Russia; appearance of the Star of Bethlehem) and upon the earth distress of nations with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring” Luke 21:25.  

According to Bible prophecy, the earth’s pretribulation “birth pains” will increase in intensity and volume as we approach the Lord’s return.

“Behold, the Lord has a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to earth with the hand” Isaiah 28:2.

“The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked; the Lord has His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet” Nahum 1:3.

The Lord is longsuffering with the nations that largely do not honor Him as The Almighty, or render Him service. Albeit, as we draw nearer to the Lord’s return, the Word of God tells us the nations will travail.

“For when they shall say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon a woman with child, and they shall not escape” 1 Thessalonians 5:3.
