A major 6.6 magnitude earthquake hit the Taiwan region on April 20, 2015, at 0143 UTC, at a depth of 1 km/0 mi, reported the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
A precautionary tsunami warning bulletin was issued by the PTWC on April 20, 2015, at 0149 UTC.
